Love Food Hate Waste

Creative cooking with leftover food

Wasted food costs the average family with children around £680 every year and it’s bad for the environment too.

To help residents reduce the amount of food they waste and make the most of their leftovers the Surrey Waste Partnership is running the Love Food Surrey campaign, which supports the national Love Food Hate Waste initiative.

As well as highlighting the cost of food waste to resident’s pockets and the environment, the Love Food Surrey website offers a whole host of advice, tips and leftover recipes, developed by Surrey chef Carmela Tomkins.

Residents can also find out about roadshows coming to their local area, offer their own tips for others to share, make a pledge to reduce food waste and enter regular competitions with great prizes.

Why not visit Love Food Surrey today and find out how you can cut the cost of your shopping bill and help the environment too.

The Surrey Waste Partnership is made up of Surrey County Council and the 11 district and borough councils in the county. We aim to manage Surrey’s waste in the most efficient, economic and sustainable way possible.
